My Story
Clarence was raised in the Pughsville section of Portsmouth, which was at the time part of Norfolk County. and attended Crestwood High School until leaving before graduating to serve in the US Army in 1964. Although he did not officially graduate from our beloved school, we proudly recognize Clarence as one of our own. While in the military, he served as a Drill Sargeant at Fort Dix, NJ; 2 years in Vietnam; and served at Fort Campbell, Germany, Fort Bragg, and Korea. Clarence was honorably discharged in 1984.

While in the military, Freemasonry became one of his "calling." He became a Master Mason while stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky. Some of his achievements include:
2007-2008: Worshipful Master of the Year
2009: Master Mason of the Year
2010: Grand Lecturer for the 16th District
Worshipful Master- Beauty of Dunn 16th District Coastal Region

Clarence has been married to Emma Jean Wolfe for more than 59 years. They are the proud parents of four children and have five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Clarence and his family currently live in Dunn, North Carolina where they attend Trinity AME Zion Church. He served as preacher steward and proudly proclaims that his grands and great-grands attend Sunday School and church with him every Sunday.

Clarence also retired from the Post Office after 20 years; and, received a AAS from Johnson Community College. He remains a member of the VFW, American Legion, Disable Veterans, and Retired Military Association. Congratulations Clarence on an outstanding career, both in the military and post office, as well as high achievements within the community.
