Crestwood High School Alumni Association, Inc. Scholarship Program

The Crestwood High School Alumni Association, Inc. Scholarship Program is designed to assist in establishing a lasting legacy for Crestwood High School by assisting graduating students with attaining their educational goals, meeting their professional objectives, and in succeeding to their fullest potential and ability. The scholarship will recognize and highlight the students’ scholastic accomplishments, leadership abilities and community services.

Eligibility

  • Have at least a 2.5 GPA, based on 4.0 scale;

  • Dependent* children/relatives of attendees of either Crestwood, Norfolk County, or Douglass Park High Schools; *Dependent children/relative are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren who are descendants of any person who attended aforementioned schools;

  • High school graduates must be already accepted or enrolled into a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school;

Required Materials

  • Completed and signed application; no substitutions or incomplete applications will be accepted;

  • Official high school transcript;

  • Two letters of recommendations from people who are familiar with their accomplishments, background, personality, and future potential;

  • Letter of acceptance to a college/university or other educational institution;

  • A typed 300-500-word essay explaining how this assistance will help them reach their goals;

  • A signed school guidance counselor form, (including documentation of extra curricula activities);

Awards

A minimum of two (2) $500.00 scholarship awards (one each) will be presented to two selected participants annually, with the specific amount of the awards and the number of recipients being determined annually. The scholarships will be renewable for a maximum of four (4) years for each recipient, but they must complete a new application annually. The scholarship program and requirements will be promoted and advertised through various scholarship directory listings, school’s guidance departments, the Association’s web site, newspapers, brochures, or a combination of one or more of these.

Scholarship recipients will be selected after careful review of their application packet, which should include ALL required materials and documentation of eligibility. Unusual personal or family circumstances may also be considered. Final review of selections will be made by the scholarship committee and the Board. Awards will be payable and presented directly to the students.


The application period will be from January through March. All completed application packets must be postmarked by April 30 of each year. The awards will be presented during the Association’s annual gala.
